چکیده

A study on the polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF) membrane using lignin and lignosulfonate oil palm empty fruit bunch (OPEFB) fillers have been carried out. This aims to determine additional effect of PVDF membrane. Lignin sulfonation has a good result proven by Fourier transform infrared spectra with peak at 1192 cm−1 which indicates sulfonate group. The degree was increased 8.9% for lignosulfonate. prepared phase inversion method. Data present that all membranes an asymmetric structure finger-like sponge-like pores. Good thermal stability indicated gravimetric analysis showed degradation 432 °C. mechanical properties decrease addition filler. From X-ray diffraction, peaks appeared 18.39°, 21.35°, 23.75° indicating α β phases. hydrophilicity water uptake. presence group increases ionic exchange capacity conductivity up 2.78 mmol/g 9.95 × 10−5 S/cm, respectively, 5% addition. Thus, PVDF/lignosulfonate potential as polymer electrolyte

Characterisation of Oil Palm Empty Fruit Bunches for Fuel Application

This study was an attempt to produce bio-oil from empty fruit bunches (EFB) of oil palm waste using fast pyrolysis technology. A 150 g/h fluidised bed bench scale fast pyrolysis unit operating at atmospheric pressure was used to obtain the pyrolysis liquid. A comparison of the elemental composition of unwashed and washed feedstock was made in this study. With the five methods of treatment being...

Dynamic investigation of hydrocarbon proton exchange membrane Fuel Cell

Sulfonated polyether ether ketone (SPEEK) is categorized in a nonfluorinated aromatic hydrocarbon proton exchange membrane (PEM) group and considered as a suitable substitute for common per-fluorinated membranes, such as Nafion, due to wider operating temperature, less feed gas crossover, and lower cost. Since modeling results in a better understanding of a phenomenon, in this study a dynamic o...

Pulping of Empty Fruit Bunches (efb) from the Palm Oil Industry by Formic Acid

Empty fruit bunches (EFB) from palm oil were characterized. The holocellulose (66.97%), α-cellulose (47.91%), and lignin (24.45%) are similar to wood materials, and various non-wood materials, but the fiber length is shorter (0.53 mm). The influence of operational variables in the EFB pulping [formic acid (75-95%), hydrochloric acid (0.05-0.15%), and time (30-150 min)], on the yield, kappa numb...

Oil Palm Empty Fruit Bunch as a New Organic Filler for Electrical Tree Inhibition

The use of synthetic retardants in polymeric insulated cables is not uncommon in the high voltage engineering to study electrical treeing phenomenon. However few studies on organic materials for the same investigation have been carried. .This paper describes the study on the effects of Oil Palm Empty Fruit Bunch (OPEFB) microfiller on the tree initiation and propagation in silicone rubber with ...

Co-composting of empty fruit bunches and partially treated palm oil mill effluents in pilot scale

The main objective of this study is to investigate the physicochemical changes of the cocomposting Empty Fruit Bunch (EFB) with partially treated palm oil mill effluent (POME) in pilot scale. The partially treated POME from anaerobic pond was sprayed onto the shredded EFB throughout the treatment. The composting materials were turned over one to three times per week for aeration. Temperature an...
